sustaining farmers - strenghening communities -

 As part of our initiative to reduce our impact we have implemented the following initiatives : 
-Our kitchen uses biodegradable cleaning systems where possible and replaced with more eco friendly options
-Our entire team have replaced single use plastics in all areas and encouraged all local suppliers to also deliver our produce in reusable  containers. 
- Our team separate our food waste which is then picked up by in the loop BNE.  This is then turned into compost and worm castings which fertilises our farmers garden beds that grow our produce
- We use a pottery for the planet, which gives consumers the option to take their coffee away in a ceramic cup and return upon their next visit. 
- reduce food miles by using produce from local farmers
-offering a large variety of plant based options including 6 different non cows milk options 
- recycling our cooking oil into bio fuel 
- our organic coffee is picked up and used on garden beds
- by using fairtrade coffee we are contributing to a sustainable future in the industry 
- we change our menu seasonally which means that we are always sourcing local and reducing food miles 
- we always accept and encourage ugly fruit because its what's inside that counts!
-slowly replacing equipment to energy star appliances
- moving to be more digital and printing menus on recycled paper 
​-ensure 90% of our marketing is online 
- employ 20 local staff and understand the importance of a socially sustainable company that values and considers the human cost to doing business. 
Whilst our efforts may seem small, we are constantly learning, adapting and evolving in new ways to help reduce our impact as a company and we look forward to working with our local community on bringing more exciting sustainable ideas into action.
